The wait is over and this one did not disappoint!

For weeks the rumours have been rumbling in the office that Patty&Bun was coming to Goodge Street (A 30 second walk from the office). Then 4 weeks ago, it was confirmed. On their website they posted a picture:

Then on the 5th September that Tweet went out:

Date for the diary peeps ... '15th September' - opening of Goodge st - we'll be doing 50% off food up until 24th September - pow pow ouchy!!

The countdown began to the grand opening!

10 days later - opening day - the excitement was building - midday rolls around - it's go time kids!

Joined the queue at 11:58 for "sit in" and was surprised to see that our group was 5th in line. Being seated first round, can't believe our luck. So it happened, 12:04 and we are ready to place our order. I ordered the "Ari Gold" cheeseburger (with Bacon, hold the Tomato), a portion of "Winger Winger Chicken Dinner" smoked confit wings with BBQ sauce & spring onions, and a portion of rosemary chips. Sounds a lot, was a lot, but with 50% off on the opening week, why wouldn't you! My colleagues ordered theirs and the wait began.

I was so excited I started snapping photos:

A happy bunch of chaps

By this stage the 50 people outside queueing to order take away started to stream through. It was getting busy.

Food took a little while to come out, but a combo of both a very busy kitchen, plus a large order of 8 burgers plus sides, it was expected. But it didn't stop Rob from getting impatient...

Then the moment happened... After weeks of waiting, the food arrived. BOOM! (Took another picture, for Instagram of course)

What a sight it was. Took all of about 8 minutes to get inhaled. But the flavours were incredible. The burger was everything you can imagine it to be, the patty was pink, the bun was soft, the juices were flowing. The wings fell off the bone, the flavour was epic. The chips, well they were too salty, but they're chips so who cares (Its basically veg).

We were 6 happy chaps with full bellies. We paid the bill and out the door we went with smiles on our faces.

When we got outside, we were met by an army of people bringing Goodge St to a stand-still. The queue was huge!

Yes, that's right, Patty&Bun has arrived, and it will certainly be here to stay! Bravo.
